PACE+ST³: Business/Employer

Business recognizes the need for new, trained, entry-level technicians. Business must be involved not only from the supply/employment of graduates but be active in participating and guiding the training the intern receives.  With the PACE+ST3 program and the dedication and support of the internship, business will be afforded the opportunity to offer a quality mentoring program that directs the student, and answers both business and industry needs.  High industry standards, business participation, and the PACE+ST3 program combine to provide a successful training program.  The end result is an intern who has a the qualities/technical ability to become a valued technician.

Benefits for the employer include;

• Continuous source of qualified entry-level technicians
• Involvement with school training program/curriculum
• Raises overall quality of applicant pool
• Reaches qualified applicants early
• Lowers cost of recruitment
• Opens up possibility of hiring technician for the long term

Responsibility of Business for participating in PACE+ST3 include:

• Be an active member of school’s collision repair advisory council
• Sponsor one or more students for paid summer internship and after junior year, continue part-time internship senior year
• Provide relevant work and pay
• Provide mentoring, job-based training, guidance for student (s)

As a business/employer who would like to know more about PACE+ST3 and possible participation:

• Talk to local school representatives and/or give the I-CAR Foundation a call at
• Fill out and sign a PACE+ST3 application
• Contact other collision repair shops that are or have participated in PACE+ST3 800.722.3787
• Start identifying mentor candidates within the business
