Welcome to the Online version of the Education Foundation's How-To-Handbook. Originally written in 1993, the Handbook has been revised and updated in 1998. The Handbook has been made available to you here free of charge through funding provided by the Allstate Foundation. Instructions for viewing and printing the chapters of the Handbook are described below. If you prefer to purchase the printed and bound 1993 version of the Handbook, the I-CAR Education Foundation has contracted with the Curriculum and Instructional Materials Center (CIMC) of Oklahoma to fulfill orders for the ADVANCE TECH curriculum materials. The Education Foundation cannot accept orders. Your order can be placed immediately with CIMC by calling them toll free at 800-654-4502. You may also order via the Internet at http://www.okcareertech.org/cimc/catalog.htm

If you choose to order from the CIMC, please use the following instructions.

  • The procedures on this entire page are what is offered by the I-CAR Education Foundation
  • Click on the Title or the Number of the course that you would like to order

  • When you have added everything that you would like to order, click the PAY button and it will allow you to check out and complete your order.

Be sure to obtain the most recent version of the NATEF task list to add to the Handbook by printing it from this site or the NATEF web site.

Each chapter of the How-To-Handbook is linked. Within each chapter there are links to navigate to different chapter sections and to view other chapters. At the bottom of each page links are provided to download the currently viewed chapter or the entire How-To-Handbook in .PDF format. This allows you to print chapters as needed. You can also print an individual page by proceeding with the print function while viewing that page. If needed an Acrobat reader link is also provided. Sample forms or exhibits, as applicable, to download in .PDF format are located at the bottom of each page. A separate Sample Forms & Exhibits page provides all of the forms and chapters to download also.
