Education Foundation News: 2009 Education Foundation Press Releases: September 16, 2009 GEICO PHILANTHROPIC DONATES $21,000 TO I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT Hoffman Estates, IL – September 16, 2009– Along with donating $15,000 to the I-CAR Education Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign, the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation is proud to announce additional scholarship opportunities for students studying collision repair. The GEICO Scholarship Program will offer a $1,500 tuition-and-tool-purchase scholarship to each of four recipients – $1,000 for tuition reimbursement and $500 for tool purchases – for an additional total of $6,000. The schools selected for this scholarship are in New York, Washington, DC, Florida, and California. The I-CAR Education Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign allows the Education Foundation to provide annual grants and scholarships to support schools, instructors, and students in collision education. “We are happy to help support efforts to develop a new generation of auto repair professionals,” said Don Lyons, GEICO senior vice president. “Tomorrow’s cars need top specialists with the best training and skills.
