I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION TO DISPLAY AT FUTURE BARRETT-JACKSON CAR AUCTIONS

Hoffman Estates, IL – September 8, 2009 – The I CAR Education Foundation will be participating in future Barrett-Jackson car auctions, the first taking place October 7-10 in Las Vegas, to provide additional awareness of the supports provided to future professionals of the automotive collision industry and highlight the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover program where one school will be awarded a $50,000 grant. Through the assistance of Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes and Barrett-Jackson, the I-CAR Education Foundation will have a donated booth space during the auction’s trade show to provide the thousands of car enthusiast attendees with additional information about the Foundation’s efforts.

“We are extremely thankful to our industry partners at Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes and new friends at Barrett-Jackson for arranging for the I-CAR Education Foundation’s presence at future Barrett-Jackson auctions. This will prove to be an excellent opportunity to help showcase how the I-CAR Education Foundation supports automotive collision repair students, schools, and instructors in front of the premier automotive enthusiasts around the world,” said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director. “During these trade shows, we also plan to utilize the opportunity to showcase our current donors and supporters as well.”

“We’re thrilled to have the I-CAR Education Foundation on board to promote the importance of automotive education,” noted Gary Bennett, vice president of consignment at Barrett-Jackson. “Their efforts to raise awareness and educate students are vital to the future of the collector car and restoration industries. There will be hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts at our auctions in Las Vegas, Scottsdale and Palm Beach eager to learn more about this great program.”

Kruger continues: “Through Barrett-Jackson’s generosity, our goal for the near future is to have a vehicle auctioned off during a Barrett-Jackson event where the proceeds would assist the I-CAR Education Foundation in supporting automotive collision repair students, schools, and instructors across the country.”
