Education Foundation News: 2009 Education Foundation Press Releases: September 2, 2009 EIGHTH ANNUAL I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY PPG INDUSTRIES RESULTS IN MOST SUCCESSFUL GOLF FUNDRAISER EVENT TO DATE Hoffman Estates, IL – September 2, 2009- The Eighth Annual I-CAR Education Foundation Golf Tournament, sponsored by PPG Industries, raised over $20,000 for the I-CAR Education Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign making it the largest annual golf fundraiser to date. Held at the Langston Golf Course in Washington, DC on July 30, 2009, 72 golfers hit the fairway for a good cause whereas the funds raised will go towards supporting upcoming scholarships and grants for collision schools and students. In addition, a portion of the funds raised will go towards the Lon Baudoux Legacy Scholarship, in honor of former I-CAR Development Manager, Lon Baudoux. “I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we had an enjoyable day at a historic Washington DC golf course,” said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director. “Thank you to everyone who joined us and special thanks to our sponsors who helped make this our most successful golf fundraising event to date.” Domenic Brusco, Sr. Manager, Industry Relations for PPG Industries added, “We are pleased that the 2009 I-CAR Education Foundation golf tournament was a success. PPG’s commitment to help increase the educational opportunities for collision students and students across the country makes partnering with the I-CAR Education Foundation an excellent choice. PPG has been a sponsor of the I-CAR Education Foundation since 1993 and will continue our support and efforts in educating collision industry employees of tomorrow.” In addition to PPG Industries, sponsors of the golf tournament and reception included:
Kruger continues: “Next year’s tournament will be in our backyard in Chicago in July and we have a number of special things planned.
