Education Foundation News: 2009 Education Foundation Press Releases: June 19, 2009 8th ANNUAL I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT SPONSORED BY PPG STILL ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS Hoffman Estates, IL – June 19, 2009 – The eighth annual I-CAR Education Foundation Golf Tournament, sponsored by PPG Industries, will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Washington, D.C. at the Langston Golf Course. “This year’s golf tournament will help support a cause dear to everyone within the collision industry”, said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director. “Part of the proceeds raised will go toward the Lon Baudoux Legacy Scholarship to support a student in collision repair and honor Lon’s lifetime of contributions to collision repair and education.” “PPG is excited and honored in taking on the title sponsorship role for this year’s I-CAR Education Foundation Golf Tournament,” said Domenic Brusco, Sr. Manager, Industry Relations for PPG Industries - Automotive Refinish. “PPG has been a continued supporter of the I-CAR Education Foundation and its contributions to automotive collision repair schools, instructors, and students. I invite the industry to join us during this event to help raise additional funds for those looking to enter the collision repair industry.” “I am looking forward to a great turnout in support of this very worthy cause,” continued Kruger. “As always, our golf tournament will raise funds to enrich opportunities for students in collision education. This is possible only through the generous support of our participants and sponsors.” In 2008, this event raised over $18,000 for the I-CAR Education Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign and the 2009 event is on track to be the largest annual golf tournament fundraiser to date for the I-CAR Education Foundation. This event is open to all industry professionals and is not limited to those attending the CIC and I-CAR meetings that week in Washington, D.C.Industry professionals and members are encouraged to participate in this event to help support the industry’s workforce.
