INDUSTRY PARTICIPATES IN FIRST ANNUAL CAR SHOW HOSTED BY THE
ATLANTA I-CAR COMMITTEE

Hoffman Estates, IL – June 11, 2009 – Industry professionals and general public were brought together on May 9, 2009 for the First Annual Spring Fling Car, Truck, & Bike Show in Kennesaw, GA hosted by the Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee. This event brought together industry professionals from the local Atlanta area and funds raised by this event go towards assisting Maxwell High School, a local career and technical school located in Lawrenceville, GA. In total, over $1,800 was raised for the school’s collision repair program and will go towards scholarships for instructors seeking additional training, as well as for students looking to attend future technical schools   More than 70 vehicles entered the event’s car show with many models being represented- both new and classic. This show will be the first of what should promise to be a very successful annual event.

The Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee has representatives from 21st Century Insurance, ABRA Auto Body & Glass, Allstate Insurance, American Family Insurance, Athens Technical College, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Esurance, Gerber Auto Body, Keystone Automotive, Liberty Mutual Insurance, LKQ Parts, MAADA, Nalley Automotive, Nationwide Insurance, Sherwin Williams, State Farm Insurance, and Travelers Insurance.

Committee Chairman, Peterson Santos stated that this committee “will continue to look for ways to give back to the industry. Maxwell High has an excellent technical program and we are proud to help benefit their efforts.”

“When we look for the next generation of collision technicians and employees for the industry, we are looking for young people who have a passion for working on cars and want to turn that passion into a rewarding career,” said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director. “The Atlanta I-CAR Committee’s Car, Truck and Bike Show was a fantastic event that not only helped their local school, it also celebrated ‘car culture’ and the artistry of people, young and old, working on their vehicles.”
