I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES IQW SPONSORED BY SEIDNER’S COLLISION CENTERS A SUCCESS

Hoffman Estates, IL – February 23, 2009– Seidner’s Collision Centers has once again supported their local career and technical schools and colleges by designating part of their I-CAR Education Foundation donation towards a local Instructor Qualification Workshop (IQW) for the school instructors.

In total, 6 school instructors in the Los Angeles area were able to attend the IQW at no charge. Seidner’s Collision Centers covered the registration cost for each attendee and also hosted the two-day event in their training facility.

The instructors that had the opportunity to attend the event had a very positive experience. Rudy Ortega from Cerritos College described his experience of the event. “I enjoyed the class. Presentation techniques and instructor/student perceptions were something that I was aware of, but had never had a class that zeroed in on them like this one. I took away a bunch of information that I will be using when my class meets. Also, I want to send a great big ‘Thank You’ to Seidner's Collision Centers for sponsoring this program for me. This is a great tool that will be utilized by all of us that attended. It is very rare, especially during this type of economic environment, that such a generous gesture can be offered.”

Gene Lopez, Seidner’s Collision Centers Director of Development was very pleased with the outcome of the event. “I am very excited to see our local schools, both secondary and post-secondary, prepare students for the collision industry. By attending this event, the instructors will have the tools to better educate their students and the school can now join the Industry Training Alliance to award I-CAR points. Overall, I would say it was a very successful event.”

“The I-CAR Education Foundation is pleased to partner with Steve Seidner and Gene Lopez at Seidner’s Collision Centers in helping collision repair instructors attend Instructor Qualification Workshops,” said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director. “It shows an investment in the collision industry that will benefit the next generation of collision technicians in Southern California.”

Seidner’s Collision Centers is a 45-year-old family owned business with 11 locations in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire communities of Southern California. As a leader in the collision industry, Seidner’s employs 185 technicians, estimators and administrative staff. Seidner’s offers scholarships towards some advanced training on current repair techniques provided by I-CAR. All SCC refinish and collision repair technicians are required to receive I-CAR training, which means customers will be assured that their vehicle will be returned to its pre-accident condition by a highly skilled and trained technician.

The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to securing donations that support philanthropic and collision repair education activities that promote and enhance career opportunities in the industry.
