Education Foundation News: 2009 Education Foundation Press Releases: January 21, 2009 SEIDNER’S COLLISION CENTERS DONATES $5,000 TO SUPPORT THE I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND LOCAL CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS Hoffman Estates, IL – January 21, 2009– Seidner’s Collision Centers have donated funds that amount to $5,000 for the use of the I-CAR Education Foundation and local schools in Southern California’s San Gabriel Valley. This contribution is an investment into the local education system offering collision repair training. By supporting these schools financially, the future will be brighter in all segments for tomorrow’s professionals in the industry. The donated funds will cover the tuition costs for several local collision instructors to attend the Instructor Qualification Workshop (IQW). This workshop is a necessary step before a school can become a member of the Industry Training Alliance and offer their students I-CAR points. Currently, California only has six schools that have become members of the Industry Training Alliance. “The I-CAR Education Foundation is pleased to help facilitate this IQW with Seidner’s Collision Centers and southern California collision programs,” said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director. “We need strong relationships between schools and shops if we are to provide well-trained and productive future technicians. Special thanks to Steve Seidner and Gene Lopez for all they do to help their local collision training schools.” “I am very excited to see our local schools, both secondary and post-secondary, prepare students for the collision repair industry,” said Gene Lopez, Seidner’s Director of Development. “The Industry Training Alliance program not only offers students the ability to market themselves to our industry, but it also supports articulation programs between high schools and community colleges.” Seidner’s Collision Centers is a 45-year-old family owned business with 11 locations in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire communities of Southern California. As a leader in the collision industry, Seidner’s employs 185 technicians, estimators and administrative staff. Seidner’s offers scholarships towards some advanced training on current repair techniques provided by the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, (I-CAR). All SCC refinish and collision repair technicians are required to receive I-CAR training, which means our customers will be assured that their vehicle will be returned to its pre-accident condition by a highly skilled and trained technician. The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to securing donations that support philanthropic and collision repair education activities that promote and enhance career opportunities in the industry.
