Education Foundation News: 2008 Education Foundation Press Releases: July 28, 2008 I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION RECOGNIZES TOP VOLUNTEERS IN FIRST TIME AWARDS Hoffman Estates, IL – JULY 26, 2008- In the spring, the I-CAR Education Foundation awarded over $100,000 in student scholarships, instructor training grants, and curriculum grants. This was an achievement that took industry support through fundraisers, donations, and volunteered time. Because of the tremendous amount of effort put in by I-CAR volunteers, the I-CAR Education Foundation created special awards to recognize the efforts of those volunteers. The awards were presented at the I-CAR Annual Meeting and will be housed at the I-CAR Training Support Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. “On behalf of the Education Foundation staff, I want to congratulate the winners of the Zone of the Year and Committee of the Year Awards,” said Melissa Marscin, I-CAR Education Foundation Development Administrator. “These award recipients have truly embraced what the Education Foundation is doing to help career and technical schools and colleges across North America.” Zone of the Year Award The 2008 winner of the Zone of the Year Award is: I-CAR Committee of the Year The 2008 winners of the I-CAR Committee of the Year are: We encourage other I-CAR Committees and volunteers to get involved with their local schools.
