Education Foundation News: 2007 Education Foundation Press Releases: September 7, 2007 I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION ESTABLISHES FUND IN MEMORY OF MARCH TAYLOR HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – September 7, 2007– The I-CAR® Education Foundation has established a fund in memory of collision industry professional March Taylor, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 26. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Taylor family at this time,” says Tom McGee, I-CAR President and CEO. “It is never easy to say goodbye to a good friend and right now our hearts are sad because of this loss.” March Taylor was a long time SCRS board member and was highly involved in CIC. He was widely thought of as an industry technical expert by several segments of the collision industry and could always be called upon for his expertise without complaint. Thought of by many as someone who was “selfless” in every way, Taylor put a lot of his time and resources back into the industry. “March Taylor will be missed by us all,” says Ron Ray, I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director. “His passing is a deep loss for the collision industry and for all those who called him a good friend.” I-CAR Program Instructor Toby Chess, a close friend of March, was instrumental in getting the fund established. The March Taylor Memorial Fund will provide I-CAR training to apprentices and others in the industry that could use financial assistance to obtain training. All donations to the fund are tax-deductible and can be sent to: March Taylor Memorial Educational Fund A memorial service for March was held on Sunday, September 2 at the Taylor family’s shop, AutoBody Hawaii. Cards will be accepted at that location: The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to securing donations that support philanthropic and collision repair education activities that promote and enhance career opportunities in the industry.
