STUDENTS WASH CARS TO SUPPORT COLLISION INDUSTRY WEB SITES

Hoffman Estates, IL– January 4, 2007 - Students at Warren Tech Career & Technical High School in Lakewood, Colorado contributed $400 to support the efforts of the I-CAR Education Foundation.   The contributed funds will sponsor www.collisioncareers.org and www.collisionkids.org web sites that the Foundation launched to bolster the collision industry's recruitment effort.

Thomas Rausch and Matt Reinert, Warren Tech's two SkillsUSA presidents, organized and managed the fundraising event that resulted in Warren Tech students washing twenty-seven cars and selling over one hundred hot dogs.   Students surpassed their sponsorship goal by $150.

"The students themselves chose this fundraiser.   I thought it was pretty cool that they even thought of it.   We had previewed the web sites last year and the students remembered and were impressed with them," said Laura Angell, Auto Collision Instructor at Warren Tech.   "The instructors at Warren Tech Auto Collision are very proud of all of our students who sponsored, organized, and worked the fundraiser to benefit collisionkids.org and collisioncareers.org .   It was a challenging task for them and they all worked hard to make it a success."

Ron Ray, Executive Director of the Education Foundation stated, "The students at Warren Tech should be proud of their decision to use the proceeds from the fundraising event to sponsor these web sites. The purpose of these sites is to educate and recruit young people into the collision industry; the students at Warren Tech are essentially helping to meet the needs of fellow students all over the world."

While administered by the I-CAR Education Foundation, the web sites are designed to be an industry-wide effort that will provide all segments and businesses in the collision industry with the ability to market themselves to young people in search of a challenging and rewarding career.   The site for high school-age students, www.collisioncareers.org , combines detailed information about the collision repair process, training programs, and facts and figures on employment with educational and entertaining content including games, downloadable wallpapers, and a listing to detail job opportunities and career paths within the collision industry.   The second site, www.collisionkids.org , includes entertainment and educational content about the industry geared towards elementary and middle school students.

The I-CAR Education Foundation is continuing to promote and seek sponsorship for the web sites.   To find out more information, please call the Education Foundation at 888.722.3787, Ext. 283.

The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to attracting entry-level candidates and assist in preparing them for careers in the collision industry.
