Education Foundation News: 2006 Education Foundation Press Releases: June 22, 2006 I-CAR® TECH CENTRE TO HOLD 2ND ANNUAL GOLF OUTING TO BENEFIT LOCAL TECHNICAL COLLEGES Hoffman Estates, IL - June 22, 2006 - The I-CAR Tech Centre will hold its 2nd annual golf outing on August 16, 2006 at Irish Waters Golf Club in Freedom, Wisconsin. Proceeds from the event will go to the I-CAR Education Foundation and will be used for scholarships to benefit auto collision repair and refinishing programs at Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC), as well as the Technical Communications program at FVTC. Additional event details include: Location: Irish Waters Golf Club Time: Wednesday, August 16, 2006 A $65 per person entry fee includes: 18 holes of golf with cart; prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams; various hole contests including a $10,000 hole-in-one; 50/50 raffle; and an awards and dinner reception. "The golf outing is an opportunity for the collision industry to provide scholarships to young people that want to start a career in the industry," said Jason Bartanen, I-CAR Tech Centre Technical Development Manager. "The gain is two fold - this kind of investment benefits the collision industry with new talent and helps provide an avenue for those looking to make a positive start in the industry." At the inaugural I-CAR Tech Centre golf outing last year, money was raised which provided scholarships for auto collision repair and refinish students at both NWTC and FVTC. The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to attracting entry-level candidates and assist in preparing them for careers in the collision industry.
