Education Foundation News: 2004 Education Foundation Press Releases: 2004 Archives December 21, 2004 SEIDNER'S COLLISION CENTERS ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT BENEFITS THE I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - December 21, 2004 - Several high schools in Southern California’s San Gabriel Valley will receive much needed curriculum and additional support thanks to Seidner’s Collision Centers. During a brief meeting at NACE 2004; Steve Seidner, Vice President of Seidner’s Collision Centers announced a contribution of nearly $10,000 to I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director Ron Ray and I-CAR Executive Vice President and CEO Tom McGee. The funds were raised during the 2004 Seidner’s Collision Centers Charity Golf Tournament that that was held on October 21, 2004 at Sierra LaVerne Country Club in LaVerne, California; which drew 88 golfers and support from sponsors. Alhambra High School in Alhambra, California, will be one of the recipients of the I-CAR Enhanced Delivery Curriculum. Victor Quiroz, collision repair instructor at Alhambra High School says, “Our program is in the process of becoming ASE certified to the NATEF standards and once complete, we intend to participate in the PACE+ST3 program offered by the I-CAR Education Foundation.” Additional schools that will benefit from this contribution include Gladstone High School in Azusa, California and Monrovia High School in Monrovia, California. Steve Seidner said, “This was our eighth annual charity tournament and in the past the tournament committee has donated the proceeds to organizations like; The Foothill Unity Center - a local non-profit food bank, and local cancer research organizations like The City of Hope. We made the decision to support local schools this year as we have had several recent positive experiences with hiring valued employees from these schools. We believe the past six years of reaching out to get involved with our local schools is beginning to pay off and now with a program like PACE + ST3 available, we want these schools to have the opportunity to participate. “ Seidner’s Collision Centers is a leader in the automotive collision industry with six San Gabriel Valley and three Riverside County locations. The nine locations offer Seidner’s business partners greater regional flexibility to reach the needs of their clients and policyholders. Seidner’s Collision Center is a family owned organization with 40 years of experience in excellent service to all of their guests. The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality and number of entry-level employees for the collision industry. Its IRS 501(c)(3) status allows it to accept grants and donations from government agencies, individuals and businesses. The mission of the I‑CAR Education Foundation is, “To attract entry-level candidates and assist in preparing them for careers in the collision industry.” The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of entry-level employees for the collision industry. |
