Education Foundation News: 1997 Education Foundation Press Releases: 1997 ArchivesNovember 19, 1997 Build Classroom Props and Other Training Aids (Rolling Meadows, IL) The I-CAR Education Foundation's new Props for Collision Repair Training will be ready for introduction in January 1998. The Props and training aids program is designed to expose instructors and collision repair businesses to the various props and training aids that are available for demonstrating different repair techniques. This program will provide an extensive list of classroom props and plans for props that can be used by vocational-technical high school and college instructors as well as instructors in other training organizations. It will also include sources for props that can be purchased for use in a collision repair training program. The Props for Collision Repair Training program features over 350 props and other training aids. Available only on CD-ROM, in Adobe Acrobat shareware format, this new program will identify and list props that are referenced in the I-CAR Education Foundation's ADVANCE-TECH, curriculum, and props that are currently used in other collision repair training programs, including I-CAR courses. It will include those used by equipment and supply manufacturers, vocational-technical schools and colleges, vehicle makers, and other training organizations. Each section also includes a description and picture of the prop, required building materials, step-by-step instructions on how to build the prop or training aid, how to use the prop in class, and how to use the prop or training aid when describing a repair process to customers.
