Education Foundation News: 1997 Education Foundation Press Releases: 1997 ArchivesApril 3, 1997 The Allstate Foundation Sponsors Partnership For The Future Challenge (Rolling Meadows, IL) Allstate Insurance Company recently "partnered" with the I-CAR Education Foundation to attract and train quality entry-level candidates for the Collision Industry. The company is providing a Challenge Grant of $30,000 in support of the Foundation's Industry Partners Annual Fund. Supporting the Industry Partners Annual Fund fits with Allstate's commitment to improving the quality of repairs and customer service satisfaction. "The Collision Industry's ability to attract and prepare quality entry-level technicians is dependent on effective collision repair training at the high school and college levels. This challenge reflects our continued commitment to the Collision Industry, technical education and the I-CAR Education Foundation. It is imperative that we all support the critical work of the Foundation," said William Lawrence, Assistant Vice President, Business Strategies, Allstate Insurance Company. This year, to encourage support of the I-CAR Education Foundation from I-CAR Gold Class and Allstate ProShop businesses, The Allstate Foundation is sponsoring the Partnership For The Future Challenge with a matching grant of $30,000 to the Foundation's Industry Partners Fund. The Allstate Foundation's challenge will match, dollar-for-dollar, every new or increased donation made by an I-CAR Gold Class or Allstate ProShop to the I-CAR Education Foundation during calendar-year 1997. This grant, along with donations from all segments of the collision industry, will help the Foundation to enhance the Foundation's Smart Jobs/Smart People , Campaign and the ADVANCE-TECH" Curriculum. Support of the Industry Partners Annual Fund in 1997 will also enable the Foundation to continue working with hundreds of Vocational-Technical High Schools and Colleges to improve their Collision Repair Programs and help them prepare students to enter the collision Industry. "Since the Foundation's beginning in 1991, the Allstate Foundation has been a financial partner with the I-CAR Education Foundation to help provide the programs and services that strengthen Collision Repair training programs across the country and help them prepare students to enter our Industry," said Mark Claypool, Executive Director of the I-CAR Education Foundation. "The Allstate Foundation's Partnership For The Future Challenge will encourage others to support our work." The I-CAR Education Foundation, founded in 1991, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality and number of entry-level employees for the Collision Industry. |
